Educating and Advocating For Seniors and Families

What Sets Us Apart?

At Solva, we take a dedicated, one-on-one approach when it comes to our personalized senior housing or aging in place services. We understand that these changes can be difficult—at any stage of life—which is why we strive to provide the caring support you and your family need.

We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all solution; instead, we take the time to learn about you and your loved one. We take into account things like independence level, medical needs, lifestyle, personal preferences, location, and more when helping you select the right senior housing option. Our advisors are incredibly knowledgeable of the different types of senior housing communities, as well as the specific options in your area and they use this knowledge to help you make the right choice for your family.

There never is any obligation to choose or use any of our suggestions and our retirement home search assistance is a free service to seniors and their families. There is absolutely no contract or fee to use this service. Our aim is to partner with you to help you navigate the often overwhelming world of senior living and service options and to make the whole experience as stress-free and informed as possible.

Our Team

Founded in 2012 by Christine Forget, Solva Senior Living has grown to become a highly respected and knowledgeable counseling program, steeped in education, ethics, and strong values.

Christine Forget-Monfils

Founder
Some say I grew up in geriatrics; my mom was a geriatric nurse in LTC, so naturally, my first job was scrubbing pots and serving meals! From there, I have held roles including Leasing Manager, General Manager, Regional Director and Corporate Director for some of the largest seniors housing companies in Canada. I created Solva to help families tap into my knowledge and understanding of seniors’ housing and care.

Caroline Inman

Executive Director
I worked as the Client Services Manager for a care agency in Ottawa before founding my own elder care company in 2014. I have a thorough knowledge of private care services, publicly funded HCCSS services and the strategies that should be adopted while waiting for Long Term Care. When I had the opportunity to join Solva, I felt blessed to once again be able to support and advocate for those who can’t always do for themselves.

Rachel Borzecki

Program and Partnership Director
After receiving my BSc from The University of Ottawa in 2013, I went on to become a Registered Kinesiologist and Exercise Physiologist. In 2017, I got a Postgraduate Certificate from Algonquin College in Retirement Communities Management where I continued my love of working with vulnerable populations. I am a huge believer that everyone deserves respect and to be included no matter what their abilities are.

Solva Gives Back

Live in the home of your choice for as long as possible as you get older.

Solva believes very strongly in giving back and helping those who help us. More than 80% of our clients are recommended and referred to us by the city’s hospitals and rehab centres.

We continue to offer a free service to anyone needing help with a retirement home search and advocacy and we are paid a flat referral fee by our partner homes.

In our 2021 Giving Back Campaign, we donated a portion of every flat fee to the foundations of four of Ottawa’s medical facilities: The Ottawa Hospital, The Queensway Carleton Hospital, The Montfort Hospital and Bruyere Continuing Care.

Let Solva be your guide when searching for Senior Living options!

Our complimentary program was created to help you find a local Retirement Residence or Aging in Place Service; at no cost to you and without any obligation - ever!
