OUR TEAM

Solva is very fortunate to have a top tier of experienced professionals working alongside you to provide the most comprehensive senior’s housing and eldercare planning assistance.

Name: Christine Forget
Title: Founder
Years of Experience: 30 years
Experience Overview: Some say I grew up in geriatrics; my mom was a geriatric nurse in LTC, so naturally, my first job was scrubbing pots and serving meals! From there, I gained a progressive career and training in seniors housing from LTC facilities to Retirement Communities. I have held roles including Leasing Manager, General Manager, Regional Director and Corporate Director for some of the largest seniors housing companies in Canada. In 2012, I created Solva to help families tap into my knowledge and understanding of seniors’ housing and care. During this time, I’ve been continuously asked to educate the Seniors Housing sector by training them on best practices. Part of this has included developing the sales and marketing course on the Retirement Communities Management Program at Algonquin College, where I am also PT faculty training the next generation of General Managers.  One of my passions is public speaking and I recently had the opportunity to speak at a senior living conference in Dallas, Texas.
Certificates & Education: My educational background includes Business, Marketing, and LTC Management.
A Fun Fact: I am originally from Cornwall, Ontario where my parents currently live.  I enjoy travelling and experiencing new things. I am fascinated by history and explore unique off the beaten path things.

Name: Caroline Inman
Title: Executive Director
Years of Experience: 15 years
Experience Overview:Although I have a background in print and broadcast journalism, I worked in funeral services for several years when I came to Canada. It remains one of the most humbling experiences I’ve had; being able to assist and support people when they’re at their most vulnerable, and make a small difference in their immediate hours of distress and grief. It was through this that I realized my vocation in life was helping others in a more ‘hands-on’ capacity - especially seniors. I worked as the Client Services Manager for a care agency in Ottawa before founding my own elder care company in 2014. Here, I worked personally for clients and their families as well as overseeing an amazing team of caregivers, companions and personal support workers. My interests in elder care remain and I’m especially drawn to those with dementia, having supported many on their journey over the past eight years. I have a thorough knowledge of private care services, publicly funded HCCSS services and the strategies that should be adopted while waiting for Long Term Care. I have the same ethics, principles, and values as Christine, the owner of Solva who I’ve known for several years; compassion, integrity, accountability, honesty and hard work. When I had the opportunity to join her team in the summer of 2019, I felt blessed to once again be able to support and advocate for those who can’t always do for themselves.
Certificates & Education: BA(Hons) Journalism Studies, PGDip Broadcast Journalism
A Fun Fact: I am from England and I haven’t lost any colloquialisms since moving here in 2007. My colleagues often have no idea what I’m talking about or referring to but enjoy picking up my slang terms and using them out of context 😉

Name: Rachel Borzecki
Title: Program and Partnership Director
Years of Experience: 7 years
Experience Overview: Throughout my education I had always worked with vulnerable populations and enjoyed meeting people from all different backgrounds. After receiving my BSc from The University of Ottawa in 2013, I went on to become a Registered Kinesiologist and Exercise Physiologist. I found myself working within a High Tech company doing their health and wellness for employees, where I learned a lot about different cultures, and what it is like to be an extremely busy professional trying to raise a family and help aging loved ones. In 2017, I decided to continue my education and got a Postgraduate Certificate from Algonquin College in Retirement Communities Management where I continued my love of working with vulnerable populations. I am a huge believer that everyone deserves respect and to be included no matter what their abilities are.
Certificates & Education: BSc with Specialization in Human Kinetics, Postgraduate Certificate Retirement Communities Management, Registered Kinesiologist with Ontario College of Kinesiology, Certified Exercise Physiologist with the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiologist
A Fun Fact: I try to be an active person and love to get as much movement in my day as possible. Movement is not only good for our body but also our minds, especially if you can get outdoors.
